The Washington Street T station is in the vibrant Brighton neighborhood in Boston. It’s just 34 minutes to downtown on the T. Brighton itself is quiet and residential, popular with couples and families, but there are some excellent places to eat and hangout.

Dates & Olives serves healthy, Mediterranean lunches and dinners. For a taste of Spain, the tapas bar Barcelona Brookline is an excellent choice; the chorizo and fig is one of the best tapas to order. Sultana’s Bakery and Cafe serves delicious Turkish breakfast, lunch, and desserts like almond tart.

If you’d like to take the time to learn about the neighborhood, the Brighton-Allston Heritage Museum is good. For a bit of exercise, you could try rowing at Community Rowing.
